Bathroom fans … Do you need one?

One of the major reasons we need to remodel bathrooms is mold and mildew damage. Removing the mold and mildew is the easy part … but keeping it at bay can be challenging. One of the best ways we’ve found to remove the moisture and keep mold and mildew away is the Panasonic Whisper Green Select bathroom fan.

Bathrooms are usually small and poorly ventilated, maybe with a small window that doesn’t properly ventilate the room. There is a tendency for moisture to build up, condense and cause all sorts of moisture related issues. A bathroom fan is the perfect solution for removing moisture and condensation.

How do bathroom fans work?

Fans are installed in the bathroom ceiling and vent out through the house roof. This allows the moisture rich air to be moved quickly outside. The bathroom dries out quickly and mold and mildew don’t have a chance to take root.

We’ve been using Panasonic bathroom fans in almost of all of our bathroom remodeling projects over the last two years. The motion sensor allows the fan to turn on automatically, and the humidistat senses the moisture in the air and turns on the fan. You never have to touch a switch again.
